UCLA Global Classroom is seeking a full-time Lecturer in the Life Sciences to teach for the UCLA
Global Classroom Program in Nanjing, China Spring Semester, 2018 (March 5th to June 8th).
In Nanjing, UCLA Global Classroom cooperates with Jinling High School’s International Department to provide UCLA Extension courses to students during their junior and senior years. The goal of the program is to prepare Chinese High School students for study abroad in American Universities while providing them an opportunity to receive university (transferable) credits.
Teaching content will consist of two-to-three introductory life sciences courses (TBD) in the instructor’s specialty. The courses are UCLA Extension “quarter-length” courses spread over a semester.
Both UCLA Global Classroom and the relevant UCLA Academic Department must approve the lecturer.
UCLA Global Classroom provides our lecturers with support in both the academic (teaching aides) and life (staff) environments. We have extensive experience operating in China and 2017-2018 will be our 8th year in operation at Jinling High School.
Jinling High School (as well as the lecturers’ housing) is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Nanjing (鼓楼区) near Nanjing University with convenient walking and public
- PhD in applicable field
- Excellent teaching credentials
- Affiliation with UCLA or the UC System (Alumni or current/past instructor)
- Comfortable with living in foreign settings
- Interest in China/Chinese language (not required, but helpful)
- $9,000 per course ($5,000 in USD, $4,000 in Chinese RMB)
