Postdoc Positions in Systems Immunology and Virology

Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute

Research Description
Multiple postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the Infectious and Inflammatory Disease Center (IIDC) in the laboratory of Dr. Sumit K. Chanda as part of a multi-disciplinary program focused on generating both systems-level and mechanistic understanding of virus-host interactions and innate immune response pathways. These positions will be focused on elucidating multiple molecular features of host-pathogen interactions and responses to Influenza, HIV, Dengue, West Nile, Zika, and gammaherpes viral infection using systems-based approaches. Prospective candidates will play an important role in elucidating novel factors involved in the interplay between virus and host innate immune factors, and understanding their therapeutic implications in inflammatory, autoimmune, infectious disease, and cancer.

Highly motivated candidates who recently obtained a Ph.D., with a strong background in virology, cell biology, and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. In addition, experience in innate immune signaling and an understanding and ability to apply statistical techniques to the analysis of large data sets are a plus. Candidates must have good communication skills, and should be able to work independently and in a collaborative scientific environment. Successful candidates will have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Interested individuals should send their curriculum vitae, a brief description of their research interests, and the names of three references to: Marisol Chacon at Please visit [] for
