Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute
Multiple postdoctoral positions are immediately available at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in the laboratory of Dr. Sumit K. Chanda (La Jolla, CA). Positions will focus on generating both systems-level and mechanistic understanding of immune response pathways such as TLRs, NLRs, cGAS-STING, TNFRs (CD40), and Fc-mediated signaling as well as host-pathogen interactions of RNA and DNA viruses, including HIV-1, IAV, DENV, WNV, CHIKV, EBOV, ZIKV, and HHV8. Studies will place an emphasis on translating basic research discoveries into pre-clinical concepts. Prospective candidates will play an important role in elucidating novel factors involved in the interplay between virus and host innate immune response, and understanding their therapeutic implications for inflammation, autoimmunity, infectious disease, and cancer.
Requirements and Applications
Highly motivated candidates who recently obtained a Ph.D. with a strong background in immunology, cell biology, virology, and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. In addition, experience in functional genomics and an understanding and ability to apply statistical methods to analyze large data sets are highly valued. Candidates must have good communication skills, and should be able to work independently and in a collaborative scientific environment. Successful candidates will have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
Interested individuals please send their curriculum vitae, a brief description of their research interests, and the names of three references to: Paul De Jesus at email@example.com. Please visit [www.chandalab.org] for additional information.
