Job Description: The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for a position at the level of Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Xinjiang Cai and Dr. Kristina Bostrom. This research opportunity focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms contributing to the development of cardiovascular diseases, with a specific emphasis on vascular calcification. The position is supported by NIH R01 grants and Start-up funds from UCLA.

Our research is centered on unraveling the cellular and molecular intricacies associated with vascular calcification and endothelial biology. We are actively seeking a dedicated scientist with a fervent commitment to scientific exploration and a collaborative spirit to become a valuable member of our team. The candidate will spend the majority of their time performing research and is expected to present their work at laboratory meetings as well as departmental and scientific conferences.

Requirements: To be eligible for consideration, applicants should hold a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree, preferably obtained within the past 5 years. Candidates with a strong background in studies of the vascular biology, molecular biology and/or related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.

The compensation package, including a competitive salary and fringe benefits, is commensurate with the candidate’s prior research experience.

Candidate will be expected to:
• Design, execute and analyze experiments for manuscript preparation
• Participate in multidisciplinary research collaborations
• Contribute to training/supervision of students and technicians in the lab
