My research interests are in the area of cardiovascular metabolism. In particular we focus on the protection of mitochondrial structure and function in the setting of heart disease. Current projects involve the use of in vivo and in vitro models to study how various pharmacological agents protect mitochondrial structure and function in the setting of ischemia-reperfusion injury and diabetes.
