Post a Postdoc Position

UCLA Requirements and State Regulations for Posting a Position

While departments may advertise open postdoctoral positions, recruitment and job posting processes must comply with policies established by the department, division, school, and UCLA campus (e.g., AAPO, CHR, etc.).

By law and state regulation, the following information must be included in all job position advertisements:

  • Salary, whether a specific amount or range (Consult the Postdoctoral Scholar Salary Scale for updated salary minima)
    • E.g. “Starting annual salary of $66,737” or “$66,737 – $80,034, depending on experience”
  • Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement

Though not required, UCLA campus practices generally include Union/Policy Covered information (e.g., Bargaining Unit: PX-Postdoctoral Scholars).

For more information on advertising positions in general, visit “How to Advertise” on CHR’s website: https://chr.ucla.edu/recruiting-and-hiring/how-to-advertise

Posting the Position on UCLA Platforms*

UCLA Career Opportunities is the main website for employee recruitment at UCLA.

For postdoc positions in the biosciences we recommend having opportunities listed on UCLA Health Careers and Academic Positions.

*We’ve decided to consolidate where we list postdoc opportunities so we ended our Postdoc Affairs Job Board in favor of directing faculty to centralized campus platforms.

Posting the Position on Non-UCLA Platforms

Reach out to your UCLA Employment Consultant before posting a position on non-UCLA platforms. The following options are professional societies and job boards where you can publicize postdoc positions. This list is a sampling of options and not exhaustive. Please research a platform before use.
