Bio:

I teach courses related to cellular and molecular biology at CSULA at all levels of instruction, from introductory to graduate courses. The goal of my research laboratory is to map mitochondrial proteins and functions to disease. Mitochondrial dysfunction is associated with many pathologies. However, in many cases, the distinct mechanisms by which mitochondrial dysfunction promotes these diseases remain unknown. We utilize a variety of investigative techniques to characterize the functions of mitochondrial proteins and how these proteins and functions are related to disease.
